Grandmother’s Greenhouse specializes in the wholesale production of native shrubs, trees, forbs, and grasses that support reclamation, ecological restoration, reforestation, and shelterbelt initiatives. Our nursery operations are focused on rebuilding diverse, resilient plant communities that help restore ecological function to disturbed landscapes. By providing regionally appropriate plant materials, we support projects that aim to stabilize soils, restore wildlife habitat, improve water quality, and strengthen the natural systems that sustain healthy ecosystems.

All seedlings are grown from locally collected native seed sourced throughout Northeast British Columbia. These plant populations are naturally adapted to the region’s colder winters, shorter growing seasons, and the unique conditions found within boreal and sub-alpine environments. By prioritizing locally sourced genetics, our seedlings are better suited to survive and thrive in northern climates while maintaining the ecological integrity of restoration sites.

Our propagation practices focus on producing healthy, vigorous seedlings that are capable of establishingquickly in the field. Through careful seed handling, propagation, and nursery management, we ensure our plants meet high standards for quality, resilience, and ecological suitability. These native plants not only contribute to successful land restoration but also provide critical habitat and food sources for regional pollinators, birds, and wildlife species.
